Dr. Matthew Lecuyer
Medical Society of DC, Alternate Delegate to the AMA House of Delegates
Dr. Matthew Lecuyer is board-certified in General Pediatrics and Pediatric Emergency Medicine, is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and an active member of the American Medical Association (AMA), where he currently serves as the AMA Young Physician Section Chair. He is an attending at Children’s National Hospital, practicing Pediatric Emergency Medicine.

He is an Instructor of Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine at the GW School of Medicine & Health Sciences. He received his medical degree from University of Massachusetts School of Medicine in Worcester, MA, and completed his residency in General Pediatrics at McGaw-Northwestern/Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago in Chicago, IL. Upon completing residency, Dr. Lecuyer completed his fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Brown University/Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence, RI and completed his Master’s in Public Health at the Brown University School of Public Health while in fellowship.
Dr. Lecuyer previously attended college in D.C. at Georgetown University and has been an MSDC member since returning to the District in 2019, having been involved in organized medicine since his first year of medical school through the Massachusetts Medical Society, the Illinois State Medical Society, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the American Medical Association. He is excited to act as a lead member for the Early Career Physician Section, and currently serves the MSDC as an Alternate Delegate to the AMA House of Delegates. He has previously served as the Chair of the American Medical Association Resident and Fellow Section and as an alternate delegate for the Massachusetts Delegation to the AMA.
When not at the hospital or working within organized medicine, Dr. Lecuyer enjoys running, traveling, and all things Disney.
