WPS Members Meet with Haiti Ambassador- March, 2010
"Dr. Lawson, Dr. Perman and I had a meeting with the Ambassador Raymond Joseph
at the Embassy of Haiti. We had a nice meeting with the Ambassador, although he had a very busy schedule. Drs. Lawson, Perman and I talked with him; Jerry Perman spoke in French.
The Ambassador felt so much at ease that he played the harmonica and he played a nostaligic song about his country. Dr. Perman could relate to him, with his passion for music. I felt moved by his desire to play nostalgic music. What a deep
moment in communicate with people he barely knows! It is true that emotions have no geographic boundaries!
We all wish the Ambassador the best success in helping Haiti to recover as fast as possible, given the circumstances/ We are very concerned about the emotional consequences for the victims of such a trauma and the percolating effect in the future generations, as we have seen this happening over and over.
