WHO WE ARE
The Washington Psychiatric Society (WPS) is a medical specialty
organization composed of approximately 1,000 physicians who
specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of mental illnesses,
including substance abuse disorders. WPS covers the National
Capital Area with regional chapters representing the District
of Columbia, Suburban Maryland (Montgomery and Prince George’s
Counties) and Northern Virginia (Alexandria City, Arlington,
Fairfax and Loudon Counties), and is affiliated with the internationally
recognized American Psychiatric Association (APA).
